8. SMS and MMS Messaging Terms
8.1 Messaging Programs
FedLegacy offers SMS and MMS messaging programs to consumers who expressly consent to receive messages from us.
Depending on the consent you provide, messages may include:
- Marketing messages: Federal retirement education, educational resources, webinar and event invitations, service information, promotions, and invitations to schedule a consultation.
- Informational and customer-care messages: Appointment confirmations and reminders, requested service updates, scheduling notifications, account-related communications, and responses to customer-service or Help Desk inquiries.
Marketing and informational or customer-care messaging are separate categories. Consent to receive one category of messages does not automatically enroll you in another category. You will receive only the categories of recurring messages to which you have affirmatively consented.
8.2 Consent to Receive Messages
By providing your mobile telephone number and affirmatively selecting the applicable SMS consent option, or by completing another clearly disclosed opt-in process, you expressly consent to receive recurring SMS or MMS messages from FedLegacy at the number provided.
These messages may be sent using automated technology. Your consent applies to the message category and program identified when you opt in.
Consent to receive marketing messages is not a condition of purchasing any product or service.
You represent that:
- You are the subscriber or customary user of the mobile number provided;
- You are authorized to provide consent for that number; and
- The number you provide is accurate and current.
If your mobile number changes or is reassigned, you agree to notify us or unsubscribe before discontinuing use of that number.
8.3 Message Frequency and Charges
Message frequency varies per user. Message and data rates may apply. Text HELP for help. Text STOP to unsubscribe. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Your wireless carrier’s standard messaging and data charges may apply to messages sent and received. Please contact your wireless carrier if you have questions about your messaging or data plan.
8.4 Opting Out
You may revoke your consent and unsubscribe from SMS or MMS messages at any time by replying STOP to a message from FedLegacy.
After submitting a STOP request, you may receive one final confirmation message stating that you have been unsubscribed. After that confirmation, you will no longer receive recurring messages from that sender unless you provide consent again.
Additional recognized opt-out keywords may include:
- CANCEL
- END
- QUIT
- UNSUBSCRIBE
The Company will process opt-out requests within a reasonable period and as required by applicable law and carrier rules.

8.7 Mobile Information and Privacy
We use mobile information to administer our messaging programs, document consent, process opt-out requests, provide support, and deliver the communications you requested.
Mobile telephone numbers, SMS opt-in information, and messaging consent records will not be sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes.
We may disclose mobile information to service providers that assist us in operating our messaging programs, including messaging platforms, telecommunications providers, and customer-support vendors, but only as necessary for those providers to perform services on our behalf.
